louie & I, is the result of a Mum (ex. Colour specialist, interior stylist, retailer) wanting to move behind the scenes and spend colourful quality time with her uber creative and talented daughter, nicknamed ‘Louie.’

The result is this, Louie & I. It’s something we’ve both created entirely together which we hope you will enjoy as we do. You are not just supporting Handmade, or Homemade, you are supporting family – and that’s kind of cool on any level. There are no corporations or entities here – simply a Mum and her girl trying to live a hardworking, creative life. Thanks for continuing to make that possible.

Our necklaces are never more than one or two in a range, opting to create something unique and new each time. We will happily reproduce past work, (as we make all the beads ourselves) and are open and excited about the possibility of creating a custom piece just for you!

SO …

THANK YOU!

You are not just supporting Handmade, or even Homemade; you are supporting family – and that’s kind of cool on any level.

Live your dreams 🙂

SAVE THE DATE 21-22 SEPTEMBER OPEN STUDIOS WEEKEND!

The General Blah, I mean Blog!

banner wih address and now onlineIt’s almost that time again folks, the Annual Manly Arts Festival. An incredible fortnightly event filled with all manner of creative endeavours, and where you even get to have a sneak peek into some of the Home and Group studios in the area.

Come along, have a cuppa and meet our resident Creatives which include Mixed Media Artists Jessica Watts, Melinda Jordi, Kere M Baker, Sara Dowse, along with Textile Extraordinaire Melissa Lovell of The Organic Mamas, Oil Painter Christine O’Hagan, Mosaic Artist Nichola Walker AND two new additions to the ARTspace team, Lanya  of Louie & I jewellery, and Adrian Johns and Emma Rush with Loobylou – candles with conscience! Talk about a creative hot pot.

SO WHAT IS THE ARTSPACE?

Simply, a space for the ARTS. A destination/location/platform set up by Kere M Baker of Red Olive Studios (retail and design). In an effort to provide affordable Studio and Exhibition space, somewhere for local creatives to, well, create…the underground ARTspace was founded. Ten studio spaces, a Gallery/Function area, kitchen and bathroom backing on to a glorious backyard, the space has been mostly at capacity since it’s inception almost 4 years ago.

Our goals and plans include continuing to provide an inspiring space, educate and share creative tools, and host affordable Group and Solo shows for Artists. Further to this we are looking at hosting kids and Adults Creative classes, both with our own Artists network, and with others coming in to host their own – so there’ll be lots of opportunities and perspectives.

The new ARTspace website is moments away from launch, and includes a blog where all manner of Creative / Artistic topics are up for discussion, online shopping facilities from both our resident ARTspacers, and various trusted Artists within Australia and New Zealand. WATCH THIS (ART)SPACE!!!

You didn’t REALLY think by winding up the retail space, I’d lay low did you?

Some of you are aware of this, others will be hearing for the first time now! My kid and I have been getting our creative and colour on, and have come up with ‘louie & I’ handmade and homemade jewellery.

The idea kind of cemented itself when she didn’t get in to Mosman High – as a distraction, and a reminder that she was a valid creative kid and her ideas were pretty fab! I’m pretty stoked with our results so far… Hope you enjoy browsing our Etsy shop 🙂

THANK YOU for browsing, and remember you are not just supporting Handmade, or even Homemade; you are supporting family – and that’s kind of cool on any level.

There are no corporations or entities here – simply a Mum and her girl trying to live a hardworking, creative life. Thanks for continuing to make that possible, and believing WE CAN DO IT.

Live your dreams 🙂
